A BIT ABOUT ME

Hi, thanks for being here!

I'm Emily, a functional movement expert, Doctor of Physical Therapy and Precision Nutrition certified coach.

 

After working as an orthopedic physical therapist for more than a decade, I began to realize the importance of taking a whole-body approach to more effectively treat aches & pains.  At the same time, I was becoming increasingly frustrated with the limitations of traditional PT settings, where insurance and time restrictions made it difficult to provide the comprehensive care people truly need.  Around this period, life at home shifted too. I had made it through the whirlwind toddler stage of raising twins (& residual high BP from a twin pregnancy), and turned my focus back to my own health and fitness. That’s when I discovered just how powerful proper nutrition is to feel & function your best.  

​

Then the pandemic hit in 2020, and I, like many people, was further pushed to re-evaluate how I wanted to serve others. Fast forward to today (and 125+ continuing education hours later), and I’m proud to provide both virtual coaching and in-person guidance to help mid-life adults reduce pain, improve mobility & strength, and build long-term health. For those needing manual therapy or pain-relief modalities (dry needling, cupping, etc.), I also provide formal physical therapy services at a local KC clinic.

Regardless if you utilize my online coaching services or see me for in-person guidance, my mission is the same: to educate & empower individuals of all backgrounds to optimize their health through pain-free movement and sustainable nutrition strategies. 

 

Outside of working with movement & nutrition clients, I stay busy with family life and do my best to keep up with my (now) 12 year old twins!  I also enjoy playing tennis with my husband and spend as much time outdoors as the KC weather allows.  Maintaining my energy levels with regular exercise and eating a healthy, balanced diet has been vital to helping me get it all done. I hope to inspire you to feel that positive energy as well!
